ARTIST BIO

With a British degree in art and design, Terry Wofford worked her way around the
world, creating textile designs in California, graphic designs in Hong Kong, and
Thai silk in Bangkok.  After meeting her future husband in Laos, she turned to
painting the experiences of those who flew in those challenging times and
terrain.  Inspired by the John Gillepie Magee Jr. poem, High Flight, she focused
on expressing the lyrical dimensions of flight.  It is in that visual expression of
our being, the desire to communicate the oneness of all, that informs her
contemporary work.

A charter member of the American Society of Aviation Artists, Wofford has
paintings in the NASA Art Collection and the United States Air Force Art
Collection.  She has exhibited at the Smithsonian's Air & Space Museum, the
Galaxy Center in Florida, the EAA Museum in Oshkosh, Colorado Springs Fine
Art Center, and other prestigious galleries.  She has awards from the
Smithsonian's, Looking at Earth exhibit, Simuflight's Horizon's of Flight exhibit,
as well as others.  Her articles, Painting The New Frontier: Flight, and
Controlling The Sky, on painting clouds, were featured in the Artist's Magazine.
